An earthquake has been recorded in the Caspian Sea, according to Azerbaijan’s seismic monitoring authorities.
The Republican Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan said the tremor had a magnitude of 3.3.
The earthquake was registered at 02:17 local time at a depth of 12 kilometres. No information has been reported about damage or casualties.
The Caspian region experiences occasional low to moderate seismic activity due to underlying geological processes.
