A mixed dynamic has been observed in global stock markets, APA-Economics reports.
Mainly positive dynamics were recorded across indices in U.S. markets. Thus, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.36% to 46,669.89 points. The S&P 500 Index rose by 0.44% to 6,611.83 points, while the Nasdaq Composite increased by 0.54% to 21,996.34 points. At the same time, the NYSE Composite Index and the S&P/TSX Composite Index showed increases of 0.27% and 0.22%, respectively.
In the Asia-Pacific region, a mixed dynamic was observed. Thus, the Nikkei 225 decreased by 0.10% to 53,361.16 points. The TOPIX Index rose by 0.01% to 3,645.13 points. At the same time, the Hang Seng Index and the CSI 300 Index declined by 0.70% and 0.14%, respectively. Meanwhile, the S&P/ASX 200 Index and the MSCI AC Asia Pacific Index increased by 1.51% and 0.34%, respectively.
Analysts believe that the mixed dynamics in global stock markets were formed against the backdrop of investors assessing macroeconomic indicators and expectations regarding central banks’ interest rate policies.
