Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has received a delegation led by the Secretary (West) of India’s Ministry of External Affairs Sibi George, the Ministry told APA.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India were discussed, and cooperation in the economic, trade, energy, tourism, and education sectors was reviewed. At the same time, the sides conveyed their positions on issues of disagreement between the two countries and emphasized the importance of dialogue in this direction.
The parties also exchanged views on regional and international security issues, including the current tensions in the Middle East. The importance of ensuring stability and security in the region was noted. At the same time, gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for the support provided in the evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and India. The consultations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov and Secretary (West) of India’s Ministry of External Affairs Sibi George.
