Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared on Tuesday that Tehran is ready for "any ground confrontation", APA reports.
Araghchi confirmed to Al-Jazeera that he had received messages from United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, but he clarified that this does not imply that the two countries are negotiating.
"All messages are conveyed through the Foreign Ministry or received by it, and there are communications between security agencies," he elaborated.
The Iranian minister stressed that Tehran hasn't responded to the 15-point proposal and it hasn't offered any conditions to Washington. He also reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz is "completely" open and only closed to those involved in the war, adding that all necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of vessels of friendly countries through the passage.
