Cuban FM: US latest decision violates principles of free trade

Cuba condemns new US measures against island nation, said the foreign minister of the Caribbean republic, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, APA reports, citing TASS.

“We strongly condemn the latest escalation by the US against Cuba,” the minister wrote on the X social network, “now they are proposing to impose a total blockade on fuel supplies to our country.”

Rodríguez Parrilla noted that the US is also resorting to blackmail and coercion, trying to force other states to join the widely condemned blockade policy against Cuba, and threatening those who refuse with the imposition of unfounded and unfair tariffs. According to him, this is “a violation of all the principles of free trade.”

Recall that US President Donald Trump signed an executive order authorizing the administration to impose tariffs on goods from countries supplying oil to Cuba.
