An additional 25 stops and stations on railways in the areas surrounding Baku will be put into operation by 2030,  said Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), at a roundtable dedicated to the implementation of the “2025–2030 State Program for improving transport infrastructure in Baku and its surrounding areas” for the past year, APA-Economics reports.

He noted that in accordance with the “2025–2030 State Program for improving transport infrastructure in Baku and its surrounding areas,” railway transport infrastructure in the areas surrounding Baku is being improved:

“In 2026–2027, the restoration of the Yeni Surakhani–Hovsan railway line, in 2026–2028, the Bakikhanov–Bina–Gala line, and in 2028–2030, the Zabrat–Mashtaga–Baglar line is planned, along with the restoration of existing stations and the construction of new stations along these lines,” he said.

In 2025, an analysis of the track infrastructure on the mentioned railway lines was conducted, and design work was launched. Some of the design work has been completed.

In addition, optimization work was carried out for stations and stops along the lines to be restored, and the locations of the stations were determined.

It is planned to build or restore a total of 7 stations on the Zabrat–Mashtaga–Baglar line, including the Mashtaga and Baglar stations; 7 stations on the Bakikhanov–Bina–Gala line, including the Bina and Gala stations; and a total of 4 stations on the Yeni Surakhani–Hovsan line. Three of these stations will be located in the Hovsan area.

“It is also planned to add stops at the Bash Keshla and Narimanov stations, as well as to create the Kurdakhani, Fatmayi, Saray, and Binagadi stops. Construction of the Darnagul stop is ongoing,” A. Rzayev added.
