In the first 10 months of last year, Azerbaijan imported 6,380 kilograms of sturgeon caviar and 61,900 kilograms of caviar substitutes.
According to Yeniavaz.com, citing official data, 480 kilograms of sturgeon caviar were exported abroad during this period.
Sturgeon caviar was primarily imported to Azerbaijan from China. Over the 10 months, 6,360 kilograms of sturgeon caviar were imported from China to Azerbaijan. The customs value of one kilogram of caviar imported from China was $301.4 (512.4 manat).
Our exported sturgeon caviar was sold to nine countries. We exported the largest volumes of caviar to the United States (approximately 160 kilograms) and the United Arab Emirates (approximately 140 kilograms). The export destination of 80 kilograms of caviar is unknown. The customs value of one kilogram of caviar sold abroad was $1,165 (1,980 manat).
We imported caviar substitutes from the following countries:
Belarus – 29,530 kg (customs value of one kilogram – $7.7);
Kazakhstan – 1,880 kg (US$10.8);
Russia – 17,300 kg (US$26.97);
Ukraine – 10 kg (US$61);
Australia – 20 kg (US$34.5);
China – 8,100 kg (US$11.6);
Iran – 4,920 kg (US$5.9);
Japan – 120 kg (US$43.7);
Germany – 10 kg (US$65).
