In 2025, Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, was aimed at realizing the country’s national interests, said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, at a press conference summarizing the results of the year, APA reports.
Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan has raised the level of its diplomatic representation.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan today is a reliable international partner.
He emphasized that relations with neighboring states have been a priority in foreign policy: "Over the past year, there has been general tension in relations with Russia. Despite this, relations between the two countries have continued. The meeting held in Dushanbe was effective in terms of normalizing relations."
The minister also added that in 2025, in line with new geopolitical realities, significant progress was achieved in the Azerbaijan–Armenia peace process, and important steps were taken in this direction. “The promotion of international peace, international assistance activities, mediation efforts, and international events have further enhanced our country’s international standing,” he said.
