U.S. lawmaker introduces bill to fully repeal Section 907

U.S. House of Representatives member Anna Paulina Luna has introduced a bill aimed at fully repealing Section 907, APA reports.

The information was published on the Congress website.

It should be noted that this amendment restricts the United States from providing military and financial assistance to Azerbaijan.

For reference, in August of this year, the U.S. President signed an order temporarily waiving the application of Section 907 of the “Freedom Support Act.” Adopted in 1992, this amendment prohibits U.S. government assistance to Azerbaijan.

Official Baku has expressed hope that, considering the prospects for the development of Azerbaijan–U.S. relations and Azerbaijan’s growing role in the wider region, the United States will take concrete steps toward the complete repeal of the amendment.
