The investigation into the criminal case initiated against Murad Guliyev has been completed, APA reports.
The official appeal of the Prosecutor General's Office in this regard was broadcast on Ictimai Television
According to the information, although he was summoned to the Prosecutor General’s Office on November 24, he did not appear, and proceedings in absentia were initiated against him. By the decision of the Binagadi District Court dated November 27, proceedings in absentia were launched and he was provided with a lawyer.
The investigation against him was completed today. Murad Guliyev and his defense lawyers were informed that, starting from December 10, they will be given unrestricted time to review the criminal case materials at the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
He was warned that if he fails to appear for the investigation, the criminal case may be submitted to the court in absentia and a verdict may be issued in absentia as well.
Note that a decision was issued to charge Murad Gudrat oglu Guliyev as an accused person under Article 281.1 of the Criminal Code. Since he fled the investigation and is hiding outside the territory of Azerbaijan, he has been declared wanted in connection with the announcement of the charges against him. By the decision of the Binagadi District Court dated February 15 of this year, a detention measure in absentia was chosen for him.
On September 12, amendments and changes were made to the content of the charges, and a decision was issued to indict Murad Guliyev under Article 281.2 of the Criminal Code.
It was noted that on September 23, 2019, on the “Murad Quliyev” page on the Facebook platform, and on December 24, 2023, on the “RaffNaff” channel on the YouTube platform, he — acting together with others as a group in prior collusion — disseminated open calls encouraging the use of force against the legitimately formed and functioning government of Azerbaijan.
