Azerbaijani Navy conducts live-fire tactical exercises in Caspian Sea-VIDEO

According to this year’s training plan, the Naval Forces conducted a live-fire tactical exercise on the theme “Protection and Defense of Offshore Energy Infrastructure,” Ministry of Defense told APA.

Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov was present at the exercise’s Command and Control Post, where he listened to reports from the command staff on the tasks carried out in different stages.

It was noted that the main objective of the exercise, which involved combat, combat-support, and auxiliary ships of the Naval Forces, as well as Naval Special Forces and Marine units, was to improve the commanders’ practical skills in making operational decisions and employing forces in extreme situations.

According to the plan, the participating forces and assets carried out operations in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to protect and defend energy infrastructure. Tactical elements were also successfully executed to detect temporary bases of a simulated enemy on the coast and islands and to destroy terrorist groups through special operations in both day and night conditions.

As part of the exercise, high professionalism was demonstrated in search-and-rescue operations and in the evacuation of a distressed vessel.

The live-fire tactical exercise focused primarily on ship handling in complex conditions, ensuring coordination and interaction among naval forces and assets, and improving interoperability and joint operations.

Observing the course of the exercise, the Minister of Defense praised the professionalism of the personnel and the fulfillment of assigned tasks, and gave the relevant instructions to the command.
