The trial of Imamverdi Ahmadov, who was accused of organizing crimes against the constitutional order of the state, initiated by the State Security Service (SSS) at the Ganja Court of Grave Crimes, has ended, APA reports.
The verdict was read in the trial chaired by Judge Dadash Imanov.
According to the verdict, Imamverdi Ahmadov was sentenced to 10 years in prison, serving his sentence in a strict regime prison.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case on Imamverdi Ahmadov's indictment under Article 28,278.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Committing preparatory actions aimed at forcibly changing the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including its secular character or disintegration of its territorial integrity, or committing acts aimed at forcibly seizing power on the grounds of religious hostility, religious radicalism or religious fanaticism) was conducted at the SSS.
Thus, according to the indictment, since April 2023, Imamverdi Ahmadov has been working to gather people with the same radical religious beliefs around him, to cause riots in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to commit acts of violence against representatives of the government, to forcibly change the constitutional structure of the country, and to organize armed training for various individuals for the same purpose, and was detained during operational measures conducted by the State Security Service.
