On July 17, an operational meeting was held at the Anti-Corruption Department under the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, chaired by Deputy Prosecutor General and Head of the Anti-Corruption Department, Nazim Rajabov, APA reports.
The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the state of anti-corruption efforts and discussing future tasks for the first half of 2025.
It was noted that during this period, the department reviewed 5,713 citizen appeals.
Taking into account the importance of preventive measures in the fight against corruption, prosecutorial influence tools were used to eliminate circumstances conducive to corruption. During the reporting period, 66 submissions were sent to various institutions to identify the causes of legal violations and prevent their recurrence. As a result, several employees of these institutions were subjected to disciplinary action and other necessary measures were taken.
In addition, 59 criminal cases were initiated by operational agencies. As a result of 12 special operations, 10 individuals were caught in the act of committing corruption-related crimes, and 7 wanted persons were apprehended.
