Preparations for UNESCAP’s 82nd session in Baku discussed

Today, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), APA reports citing the Cabinet of Ministers.

During the meeting, the importance of Alisjahbana’s participation in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in the city of Khankendi was noted.

Satisfaction was expressed with the level of long-term partnership between Azerbaijan and UNESCAP.

The sides exchanged views on issues related to the preparations for the 82nd session of UNESCAP, scheduled to be held in Baku in April next year.

They also discussed prospects for cooperation in areas of mutual interest between Azerbaijan and UNESCAP and emphasized the importance of continuing effective collaboration within the UN’s Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).
