Last month, as a result of anti-crime measures by the State Border Service, 289 individuals wanted by law enforcement were detained and handed over to relevant authorities, APA reports citing the Press Center of the State Border Service.
Additionally, 428 individuals banned from leaving the country were prevented from exiting, and 35 individuals banned from entry were stopped at the border.
As part of efforts against the illegal circulation of narcotics, 391 kilograms and 268 grams of drugs and 2,018 tablets classified as potent psychoactive substances were seized. In various directions near the state border, 20 tons and 331 kilograms of wild cannabis plants were discovered and destroyed.
In anti-smuggling operations, contraband items worth a total of 7,596,391 manats were confiscated, including unserviceable automatic weapons, pharmaceuticals, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products.
