Director General: We could not find one of the ribs of Ziyaddin Safarov, who was killed in Yekaterinburg

“Ziyaddin Safarov's cause of death was listed as heart failure. His body was examined by a forensic expert in Russia. It’s very strange what the expert had in mind when stating that cause for such a death,” said Adalat Hasanov, Director General of the Association of Forensic Medicine and Pathological Anatomy of the Ministry of Health, while announcing the results of the new examination of the brothers’ bodies killed in Yekaterinburg, APA reports.

“The Russian doctor cited illness as the cause of Ziyaddin Safarov’s death. However, during our internal examination, we found injuries no different from those of his brother. We concluded that there was subcutaneous hemorrhaging on the inner surface of the scalp, bleeding in the dura mater and pia mater of the brain, blunt trauma, and compression of the chest. There were fractures along two lines of the rib cage. All ribs were broken — at the front left and the rear right. The fractures were severe. We couldn’t even find one rib — it had been removed. Multiple rib fractures, bleeding in the diaphragm, bleeding and hematomas in the paranephric regions, widespread soft tissue hemorrhaging in the spine, contusions and hemorrhaging in the testes and scrotum were determined. The cause of death was severe post-traumatic shock due to multiple injuries. There is a sharp contradiction in the second case as well. While Russia listed heart failure as the cause of death, we found entirely different and extensive trauma,” Hasanov stated.
