A media tour was organized at the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex, APA reports.
Elmir Mehdiyev, Head of the Material and Technical Supply Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, briefed media representatives about the complex.
It was noted that the complex is being built within the framework of the State Program of socio-economic development of the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, approved by a Presidential Decree.
Construction of the complex, which began in January 2024, is being carried out on a total area of 17,000 square meters, with a building footprint of 9,500 square meters. The main building houses a multipurpose sports hall with a seating capacity of 1,100. It is designed to host training and competitions in basketball, volleyball, handball, futsal, badminton, gymnastics, judo, wrestling, taekwondo, boxing, karate, and other sports. The facility will also include an 80-seat conference room, rooms for referees, doctors, coaches, and commentators, as well as a café. A four-story hotel with 21 rooms and 42 beds, along with a restaurant, will also operate on the premises. The complex will feature a standard football field with seating for 1,300 spectators and two futsal pitches.
Note that President Ilham Aliyev visited the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex on June 23 to review the progress of construction work.
