There is a communication gap between people living in urban spaces, suburban communities and policymakers, Lajana Manandhar, an urban planning and community development expert from Nepal, said during the roundtable discussion titled “Community-led action for adequate housing, land and basic services in the face of the climate crisis” held by mass and civil society organizations within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.
“However, the opinions of those people also influence urban development policy, and this is very important. Therefore, we must work with the broader public and ensure their support for community-oriented development. We need to think about how we can reduce the gap between communication, understanding and the narratives we create,” she said.
