Zelenskyy says he has reached agreement with Erdogan on new steps in the security sphere

Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims that at a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul, he agreed on new steps in security cooperation, APA reports.

"We agreed on new steps in security cooperation. This primarily concerns the ways we can support Türkiye: expertise, technology, and experience. There is a fundamental political commitment to working together, and our teams will finalize the details in the coming days. We discussed practical steps to implement joint projects in gas infrastructure construction, as well as the possibility of jointly developing gas fields," Zelenskyy stated in his video address.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between Ukraine and Türkiye, the situation in Europe and the Middle East were also discussed, he said.

According to diplomatic sources, the talks, which took place at the presidential office in Dolmabahçe on the shores of the Bosphorus, lasted approximately two hours. Following the talks with Erdoğan, Zelenskyy went to meet with Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople at his residence in the Balat district.
