External sector indicators, which are the main factor ensuring balance in the foreign exchange market, remain favorable, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan said in a statement, APA-Economics reports.
It was noted that, based on customs statistics, the country recorded a positive trade balance of $1.1 billion in January–February 2026.
“The Central Bank’s forecast that the current account will remain in surplus by the end of 2026 and 2027 remains unchanged. Recently, rising prices for key export commodities create the possibility of an increase in the current account surplus,” the CBA added.
