The qualification of the national teams of Türkiye and Uzbekistan for the World Cup is a victory for the Turkic world, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov at the meeting of prime ministers and vice presidents of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku, APA reports.
“On March 31, the Turkish national team secured qualification for the FIFA World Cup (to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada) for the first time in 24 years following a 1-0 victory over Kosovo. This magnificent victory has become a source of special joy for all of us. We sincerely congratulate brotherly Türkiye on this historic occasion. At the same time, Uzbekistan’s qualification for the World Cup for the first time in its history also brings great pride and joy. Brotherly Uzbekistan achieved this historic milestone in June last year. Both achievements can be considered a victory for the entire Turkic world. These victories clearly reflect the rise of Turkic peoples in all spheres,” the prime minister emphasized.
