Trump: If Iran rejects deal, its oil infrastructure will be destroyed

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Washington is prepared to destroy Iran’s power plants and oil infrastructure if Tehran refuses to reach an agreement, Trump made these remarks during an address to the nation at the White House.

He noted that the United States is attempting to reach a deal with Iran’s new leadership, adding: “The new group is less radical and more cautious. However, if no agreement is reached during this period, we will focus on key targets. If there is no deal, we will most likely deliver very strong strikes simultaneously on all of their power plants. Although this is the easiest target, we have not struck their oil facilities. Because that would not leave them even the smallest chance to survive or recover. We could have hit them and everything would have been destroyed. They would not have been able to do anything about it,” Trump said.

Trump further stated that the United States no longer depends on oil from the Middle East.

“We are now completely independent from the Middle East. We are there only to help. We do not have to be there, and we do not need their oil. We do not need anything from them. But we are there to support our allies. This country is no longer effectively a threat,” he added.
