Amid strikes on gas infrastructure in Middle Eastern countries, during today’s auctions, the price of gas in Europe exceeded $850 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time since December 2022, APA-Economics reports.
On March 19, the price of April futures under the TTF (the Netherlands’ Title Transfer Facility, Europe’s most liquid virtual trading hub) index reached $854, which is 30% higher compared to the previous settlement price.
Note that the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) began on December 31, 2020.
