CMO: Hajj pilgrimage to proceed as scheduled, first flight set for May 17

Is the Hajj pilgrimage being postponed?

“The postponement of the Hajj pilgrimage is not expected due to the events taking place," said Vusal Jahangiri, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) and Head of the Hajj electronic system, in response to an inquiry from APA.

He noted that the date of the Hajj pilgrimage is fixed and does not change: “There is nothing on the agenda related to the war, and the process continues as normal. The war has not affected the registration process either. No cases of people refusing to go on the Hajj pilgrimage have been recorded; on the contrary, there are applications every day.”

The departure date for Hajj flights has been announced

Vusal Jahangiri also noted that more than 85% of the quota has already been filled: “The first flight will take place on May 17. The first group of pilgrims will consist of 180 people.”

Recall that during the 2026 Hajj season, the price of the pilgrimage package for one person has been set at $6,100.
