"Oreshnik" missile unit begins combat duty in Belarus

A ceremonial event has been held in Belarus to mark the start of combat duty by a unit equipped with the “Oreshnik” mobile missile system, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement, APA reports.

“Specialists from the combat crews responsible for the launch, communications, security, and power supply of the missile system, as well as driver-mechanics, underwent retraining using modern training and exercise tools before beginning combat duty,” the Ministry of Defense said.

It was noted that all necessary conditions for the combat duty and deployment of Russian military personnel in Belarus were created in advance, and that the unit’s personnel are currently familiarizing themselves with new combat patrol areas.
