Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during a briefing with journalists, has declared that there is currently no Catholicos in the Armenian Apostolic Church, APA reports, citing Armenpress.
“If Ktrich Nersisyan has a child, and that child was born after he took a vow of celibacy, can he occupy the throne of the Catholicos of All Armenians? Why is this question not being raised in Armenia? Ktrich Nersisyan is not a Catholicos,” the Prime Minister said.
Pashinyan also stated that Archbishop Ezras Nersisyan is a KGB agent:
“The published facts and documents clearly show that he was recruited as a KGB agent during the Soviet Union period, and this is a fact,” he added.

Since the Soviet era, he (Ezras Nersisyan, brother of Catholicos Karekin II) has worked for the KGB, and this is a fact, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, APA reports, citing Armenian media.
“By the way, neither Ktrich Nersisyan (Karekin II) nor his brother has provided any explanation regarding these facts,” Pashinyan noted.
Note that Archbishop Ezras Nersisyan is the head of the Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Two days ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded Ezras Nersisyan with an order.
Recall that in Armenia, Gevork Nersisyan, the brother of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, and his nephew Ambarcum Nersisyan have been arrested.
