During an official visit to Azerbaijan, the delegation led by Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, paid tribute to the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, Heydar Aliyev, at the Alley of Honor on September 24 and laid a wreath at his grave, APA reports.
The memory of prominent ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also honored, and flowers were laid at her grave.
The guests then visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they paid their respects to the heroic sons of Azerbaijan who gave their lives for the country’s freedom and territorial integrity, and laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.
From the highest point of Baku, the visitors viewed a panorama of the Azerbaijani capital and were informed about the history of the Alley of Martyrs and the ongoing landscaping and construction works in the city.
