In January–June of this year, 12,953* million kWh of electricity were generated in Azerbaijan, representing a 2.2% increase in an annual comparison, APA-Economics reports citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the information, 12,507.6 million kWh of the electricity produced during the reporting period accounted for marketable output, which is a 2.1% increase.
The largest share of electricity generation — 10,383.9 million kWh — came from thermal power plants, which is 0.5% less than in January–June 2024.
Note that the remaining share of electricity generated in the first half of this year came from hydroelectric power stations, as well as other alternative and renewable energy sources.
