Deputy Chief: Rights of Azerbaijanis living in Russia have been violated

The rights of our compatriots living in Russia have been violated, said Samira Najafzadeh, Deputy Head of the Department of International Legal Cooperation of the Prosecutor General's Office, at a briefing on the torture and deliberate killing of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation, APA reports.

According to her, the torture of Azerbaijanis living in Russia is also a violation of international law: "Torture is prohibited by international treaties. Although Azerbaijan is a member of the European Convention on Human Rights, Russia has withdrawn from this convention.
