Yekaterinburg court extends Bakir Safarov’s detention -PHOTO -VIDEO-UPDATED

The Yekaterinburg court has issued a new decision regarding Bakir Safarov, APA’s Russia bureau reports.

By the court’s decision, the detention period for B. Safarov has been extended.

Thus, the court imposed a 22-day detention period on Safarov and sent him to the investigative prison until July 19.

The trial of Bakir Safarov, one of those detained during the operation carried out against Azerbaijanis by Russian law enforcement officers in Yekaterinburg on June 27, has begun, APA’s Russia bureau reports.

The court is considering whether to extend the three-day pre-trial detention measure imposed on B. Safarov on June 29.

Today, the trial of another detained Azerbaijani, Ahliman Ganjiev, will also take place. The court will consider whether to extend the 72-hour pre-trial detention measure initially imposed on him.

The trial of Shahid Lalayev, who was detained in connection with the case, is scheduled for tomorrow.
