Kremlin: Yerevan will lose Russia’s preferential gas if it chooses European Union

The issue of choosing Armenia’s future path of economic integration remains open, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

He recalled that the “preferential gas prices” currently enjoyed by Yerevan would no longer be available if it chooses an alternative integration association to the Eurasian Economic Union.

Peskov stressed that Russia and Armenia continue their dialogue and contacts with the Armenian side will be maintained.

In addition, the Kremlin spokesperson noted that Moscow had heard Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements that Armenia would not engage in anti-Russian rhetoric.
