Georgia expects increase in tourist flow from Azerbaijan

“The resumption of passenger train services between Tbilisi and Baku is important for Georgia," Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili said in an interview with the Imedi TV channel, APA’s local bureau reports.

According to her, Georgia will be the only exception from Azerbaijan with which passenger train services will resume.

The minister noted that Azerbaijan has been an important partner of Georgia in the tourism sector for years.

“Today, when the two capitals are connected only by air, the restoration of railway transport will play an important role in deepening people-to-people ties, trade and economic relations, as well as increasing tourist flow starting from the summer tourism season,” Kvrivishvili added.
