The restoration work being carried out in Kalbajar today is the restoration of historical justice, Bashir Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar district, said during the event titled “Lachin & Kalbajar: From Urbicide to Post-Conflict Reconstruction” held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.
He stated that their goal is to transform these territories into a highly developed region:
“Extensive restoration and reconstruction work is currently underway in Kalbajar. Kalbajar was the area most contaminated with mines. From 2020 to 2026, 22,200,461 hectares of land in Kalbajar were cleared of mines. Between 2020 and 2026, several mine explosions occurred in Kalbajar, and people sustained injuries of varying degrees.”
