UNITAC’s main activity is the creation of open, transparent and participatory digital governance tools, Aline Machado Da Matta, Head of the UN-Habitat Geneva Office and the United Nations Innovation Technology Accelerator for Cities (UNITAC), said during the event titled “Smart Cities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Arab Region” held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, APA reports.
According to her, these tools are mainly applied in the fields of geographic mapping, spatial analysis and data visualization.
“We support countries, regional governments and cities in developing smart city strategies, digital transformation strategies and artificial intelligence strategies,” Aline Machado noted.
According to her, the main goal is to increase preparedness, accessibility and adaptation opportunities for technological development.
