The educational process continues at Aghdam City Secondary School No. 1, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.

School principal Gunel Valiyeva said that being the head of the first functioning school in the liberated city of Aghdam is both a responsibility and a source of pride.

According to her, all necessary conditions have been created at the school to establish a modern educational environment: “The educational institution has 43 classrooms, 16 administrative rooms, a STEAM center consisting of seven rooms, physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories equipped with modern facilities, as well as computer science and pre-conscription training rooms. In addition, the school’s library and museum have also been made available to students.”

The principal added that the school also has a 352-seat cafeteria, a 468-seat assembly hall, two indoor sports halls, as well as outdoor football and basketball fields.

Primary school teacher Nurangiz Mammadova is also among the residents who returned to their native Aghdam together with her students. She noted that although the students came from different parts of the country, there were no problems during the adaptation process.

She added that the children stand out for their exceptional enthusiasm at the new school.

Seven-year-old Aysel Huseynli also moved to the city of Aghdam with her family under the framework of the Great Return State Program. She said she is very happy to study at the new school, adding that she studies with excellent grades and wants to become a doctor in the future.

Note that President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening ceremony of the 960-student-capacity Aghdam City Secondary School No. 1 building on July 18. The school was built within the framework of the First State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories.
