Azerbaijan-Belarus relations have already acquired the character of a strategic partnership, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova said during a joint statement with Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko, APA reports.
“Igor Sergeyenko is currently not only on an official visit to Azerbaijan. He is also representing the Republic of Belarus at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum and already participated in the opening ceremony yesterday. This, in fact, clearly demonstrates the essence of today’s Azerbaijan-Belarus relations. As President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also noted, ‘these relations have stood the test of time, and no one doubts that Belarus and Azerbaijan are reliable friends.’ Indeed, today relations between the two countries are consistently expanding in all directions on the basis of sincere friendship, constructive dialogue, mutual trust, and support, and have already acquired the character of a strategic partnership,” Sahiba Gafarova noted.
