Azerbaijan became Georgia’s third largest export partner

In January–April of this year, the trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan increased by 8.4% year-on-year, reaching 451.2 million US dollars, APA’s local bureau reports, citing a preliminary report by Georgia’s National Statistics Office.

Azerbaijan ranked fifth among Georgia’s main trading partners after Türkiye, Russia, China, and the United States, accounting for 5.5% of the country’s total trade turnover during the first four months of the year.

Exports from Georgia to Azerbaijan amounted to 211.3 million US dollars, which is 1.8% lower compared to the same period last year. Azerbaijan became Georgia’s third largest export partner after Kyrgyzstan and China, accounting for 8.7% of Georgia’s total exports.

The value of products supplied by Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 18.7% year-on-year to 239.8 million US dollars. Azerbaijan ranked sixth among Georgia’s main import partners after Türkiye, Russia, China, the United States, and Germany, with a 4.2% share.

During the reporting period, Georgia’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to 8.13 billion US dollars, up 1.7% compared to the same period last year. Exports totaled 2.44 billion US dollars, while imports amounted to 5.69 billion US dollars.
