Anar Guliyev: Reconstruction work in Karabakh generates great interest among international organisations

“The restoration work carried out by Azerbaijan in the territories liberated from occupation and the Great Return are generating great interest among many international organisations and partners,” Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and WUF13 National Coordinator Anar Guliyev said during his speech at the official opening press conference held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

He noted that Azerbaijan went through many difficult processes in a short period of time and did so successfully:

“Starting from mine-related problems, complex planning work was carried out simultaneously across vast territories, while parallel work was implemented in 12 cities and hundreds of villages. This is truly a very large-scale volume of work. We are not only carrying out planning, but also trying to take into account all tendencies and recommendations. We are not simply building houses and returning people to those buildings. We are creating a new quality of life in those territories. In addition, a very unique governance model, institutional approach and institutional reforms have been implemented in Azerbaijan. These were carried out by Mr. President. As a result, today around 90,000 people already live, work and study at universities in Karabakh and East Zangezur.”
