Slovak representative outlines key condition for successful implementation of New Urban Agenda

The New Urban Agenda has delivered an important message to us. Urban development is not only about infrastructure, buildings, and spatial planning. Above all, it is about people and their access to services, public spaces, and opportunities for a quality life, a representative of Slovakia said during the ministers’ meeting held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.

“In Slovakia, we have taken important steps toward a more integrated approach to territorial development. We have strengthened the role of strategic planning, integrated investments, and cooperation between the state, regions, and municipalities. The connection between national priorities and the real needs of territories is a key condition for the successful implementation of the New Urban Agenda,” the representative noted.

The Slovak representative emphasized that many challenges still remain.
