Bahraini minister: Residential areas were also targeted during recent attacks

Growing regional tensions in the Middle East have also targeted residential areas, creating serious risks to civilian safety, Bahrain’s Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amna Al-Rumaihi said during the ministers’ meeting on the New Urban Agenda organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to her, recent attacks damaged residential buildings and threatened the stability of communities as well as the safety of civilians.

The minister noted that thanks to high coordination among state institutions, Bahrain promptly carried out reconstruction work, covered repair costs, and ensured that families could return to their homes within a short period of time.

Amna Al-Rumaihi emphasized that building crisis-resilient cities means not only responding to climate and environmental challenges, but also ensuring a high level of preparedness for emergencies.
