Indian official: Implementation of global commitments requires collective action

Fulfilling global commitments requires collective action, strong multilateral cooperation, and expanded South-South partnerships, Kuldip Narayan, Secretary at India’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, said during the ministers’ meeting on the New Urban Agenda organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

He thanked the Azerbaijani government and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme for organizing the forum.

According to Kuldip Narayan, India’s urbanization strategy is based on affordable housing, water and sanitation infrastructure, climate adaptation, digital solutions, and the principles of the circular economy.

Narayan stated that India is ready to share its experience in the field of sustainable and inclusive urban development with other countries.
