Lithuania highly appreciates Azerbaijan’s support for Ukraine’s reconstruction, Povilas Poderskis, Head of Office at Lithuania’s Ministry of Environment, said during the ministers’ meeting on the New Urban Agenda organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
The deputy minister noted that the Ukrainian cities of Bucha and Irpin have become symbols of resilience and reconstruction.
“We welcome Azerbaijan’s support for Ukraine’s reconstruction,” Julius Morkunas emphasized.
He added that Lithuania will continue supporting the reconstruction of sustainable, resilient, and people-centered cities in Ukraine.
According to the Lithuanian official, the country plans to make all buildings zero-emission by 2050, fully phase out fossil fuels in heating systems, and expand the social housing stock.
