WUF13 is of great importance for our peoples and creates a major opportunity for strengthening implementation mechanisms, a Sudanese representative said during the ministers’ meeting held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.
The Sudanese representative stated that the country is currently experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis, and that cities, settlements, water networks, public utilities, and educational institutions have suffered serious destruction as a result of the war. According to the representative, millions of people have been displaced both inside and outside the country, making large-scale reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts necessary.
At the same time, it was emphasized that the Sudanese government continues efforts to restore essential services with the support of international partners.
The representative also noted that Sudan’s leadership has launched an initiative to build one million housing units for young people.
At the end of the speech, the representative thanked Azerbaijan and UN-Habitat for organizing WUF13.
