Azerbaijan has already set an example in the field of urban planning. In particular, the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories is considered an important experience, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev told journalists within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA reports.
He noted that special presentations for guests will be organized within WUF13 regarding the work carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur:
“The main focus will be specifically on the post-conflict reconstruction model. Azerbaijan has already come a long way in this direction by 2026.
During this period, significant results have been achieved in various areas, including institutional organization, planning approaches, construction processes, the return of people to their native lands, and the revitalization of life. This experience is also of interest to the international community.
Today, the number of conflict zones in the world is not decreasing, but increasing. Therefore, sooner or later, the issue of restoring territories after post-conflict and emergency situations will become part of the agenda for many countries. Azerbaijan is ready to share the experience it has gained in this field on international platforms.”
Anar Guliyev said that the work carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur attracts particular interest in this regard:
“At the same time, Baku’s Master Plan has already been approved and has been under implementation for several years. A presentation on Baku’s Master Plan will be held at the pavilion established within the framework of the event. In addition, information will be presented on all 79 cities of Azerbaijan, including their master plans.”
