A briefing was held for representatives of the accredited diplomatic corps in Azerbaijan and working groups representing high-level guests on preparations and the official programme for the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which is set to take place in Baku, APA reports.

Held at the Baku Olympic Stadium, the venue for WUF13, the briefing brought together nearly 150 international guests, including senior representatives of diplomatic missions operating in Azerbaijan, alongside officials visiting from abroad.

The briefing provided diplomats with an overview of the official event programme, alongside detailed information on protocol procedures governing security arrangements, reception services and transport coordination for state and government delegations arriving in Baku. Participants were further briefed on accreditation procedures for press services and media representatives accompanying official delegations, as well as the arrangements regulating participation in official events taking place within the framework of WUF13.

Participants were also informed about the operational framework to be implemented at Heydar Aliyev International Airport throughout the event period, the coordination of local transport services across Baku, and the programme of principal official engagements scheduled within the framework of WUF13.

Officials noted that registrations for WUF13 have already surpassed 40,000 participants from 182 countries, setting a new attendance record in the history of the World Urban Forum.

Representatives of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company stated that the Baku Olympic Stadium is fully prepared to host the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) from 17 to 22 May.  Confidence was also expressed that WUF13 will become the next major international event to be successfully hosted by Azerbaijan.

Following the briefing, participants were invited on a guided tour of the venue. During the visit, they were introduced to the dedicated areas prepared for high-level guests and official delegations, including spaces designated for the reception of state and government representatives, bilateral meetings, designated lounge and rest areas, and catering services.
