The first General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform (GSNP) is being held at the Gulustan Palace within the framework of Baku Urban Week, APA reports.
Representatives of NGOs from more than 110 countries across regions covering Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific basin — home to 80% of the world’s population — are participating in the event.
The General Assembly will continue throughout the day with various panel discussions.
At the first General Assembly of the GSNP, the Secretary-General, who will lead the organization for five years, as well as four deputies representing the regions of Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific basin, will be elected.
