Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation within OTS, says Prime Minister

Azerbaijan consistently attaches special importance to cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the meeting of prime ministers and vice presidents of the OTS member states held in Baku, APA reports.

“The current level of development of the Organization of Turkic States is the result of the purposeful policies and strong will of the heads of state of the member countries. It is precisely their consistent efforts that have ensured the deepening of cooperation within the organization year by year and the strengthening of solidarity in the Turkic world. The declaration of December 15 as World Turkic Language Day by UNESCO in November 2025 is an important indicator of the growing international prestige of the Turkic world.

Today, there are significant opportunities for the development of relations among Turkic states in political, economic, transport and transit, energy security, digital transformation, humanitarian, and many other fields. As President Ilham Aliyev has stated, strengthening ties with the Turkic world is one of the main priorities of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy. Azerbaijan has always attached special importance to cooperation within the OTS and has established strategic partnership or allied relations with all member states on a bilateral level.

In this regard, further expansion of trade and investment relations between our countries is of particular importance. In recent years, positive dynamics have been observed in this direction. Last year, Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover with OTS member states increased by more than 5% ($7.3 billion). The total volume of Azerbaijan’s investments in member states amounts to $21 billion. At the same time, joint investment funds established with a number of partner countries serve to expand mutual investments in priority areas and further strengthen economic cooperation. However, our existing potential is far greater than these indicators.

Increasing mutual trade turnover, promoting investment projects, deepening industrial cooperation, and expanding cooperation in agriculture, the digital economy, small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation, and high technologies will enable the full realization of our economic potential,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
