The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), under the U.S. Department of Energy, has announced its forecast for global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons for 2026–2027, APA-Economics reports, citing the EIA’s monthly report.
Global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons in 2027 is expected to average 106.07 million barrels per day (previous forecast: 106.09 million barrels per day), which is 1.28 million barrels per day higher than the forecast figure for 2026.
At the same time, the EIA has updated its forecast for global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons in 2026. According to the forecast, global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons this year is expected to average 104.79 million barrels per day, which is 0.03 million barrels per day lower than the previous forecast.
It is noted that in 2025, global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons averaged 103.69 million barrels per day, representing an increase of 0.86 million barrels per day compared to 2024 (102.8 million barrels per day).
