Georgian PM: Importance of Middle Corridor increased significantly

“The importance of the Middle Corridor project has increased significantly over the past two years," said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the Sustainable Development Week summit held in Abu Dhabi, APA’s local bureau reports.

He said that although Georgia is a small country, it has a strategically important location and has achieved significant success.

“We are using our strategic position, we have very ambitious plans in terms of strengthening transport connectivity, and we are investing in infrastructure, building highways. By 2030, the construction of all segments will be completed. Railway infrastructure is being developed in Georgia, and railways and seaports are being modernized,” Kobakhidze added.

The Prime Minister noted that Georgia’s free trade agreements with many countries, its lowest tax rates, and low level of corruption make the country a very important pillar of the Middle Corridor.
