Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister clarifies status of MFA blacklist

Individuals who do not officially apologize to Azerbaijan are not removed from the “blacklist”, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister said during a year-end press conference, APA reports.

“In international practice, there have been cases where certain officials were removed from a country’s blacklist after apologizing. This practice has also existed in Azerbaijan. However, over the past 30 years, nearly 2,000 individuals who have threatened our state or made unfriendly statements have been placed on the blacklist. Those who do not officially apologize to our state and do not admit their wrongdoing are not removed from this list,” the minister noted.
